Mass trapping proves effective in many crops

The adult phases of thrips and whitefly can be caught in huge numbers with Horiver sticky traps. This method is proving effective in more and more crops. In Canada in particular, there are interesting examples everywhere you look.
 
There are a great many Canadian growers who have adopted this method, especially in the area around Niagara Falls. Consultant Erik van Santen explains, 'There are various methods for catching pests. In practice, Horiver sticky traps are more effective than ribbons or roller traps. It's also easier to replace a Horiver sticky trap than a ribbon or a roller trap.'

Combined with Lurem TR

This approach works in a great many crops, including tomato (particularly against whitefly), sweet pepper, gerberas, Cyclamen, roses, Peruvian lily, Amaryllis, Annual Gypsophila, and pot chrysanthemum.

Most growers combine Horiver yellow and Horiver blue with the Lurem TR lure. The attractant (kairomone) in this product attracts thrips species such as Frankliniella occidentalis and Thrips tabaci.
