China Association of Pesticide Development &Application (CAPDA) recently held a meeting to discuss the establishment of e-commerce platform, as being attended by over 100 delegates from pesticide administrations and business circles.
Participants at the meeting discussed the e-commerce operation measures and challenges to be solved, having reached a common understanding that presently the platform will start to locate some distributors so as set up a third-party e-commerce service through which product is sold to end-users as currently there may be certain degree of difficulties serving directly the end-users.
The Board Chairman Ge Yaolun of Qingdao Hailir Pesticides& Chemicals holds that on the one hand conventional pesticide transaction has a lack of uniform planning and management which may lead to excessive supplies and low-price competition but on the other hand short supplies exist and prices would rise which would cause higher cost to farmers to a certain extent. “To establish an e-commerce platform is necessary for both farmers and producers, which is a benefit to the long-term sustainable development of China’s pesticide industry,” said the Chairman.
The General manager Zhang Qing of Hebei Veyong Bio-Chemical believes that the e-commerce platform has the distinctive features of openness, world-wide accessibility, low cost and high efficiency, which will surely provide Chinese farmers with conveniences of procurement of good product at good price as well as to provide Chinese pesticide producers with more chances of transactions at reduced cost.
China Association of Pesticide Development & Application(CAPDA) is an industry association affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. The Vice Chairman of CAPDA Zha Xiancai expressed that the pesticide e-commerce platform will be built into a trusty and appealing platform which integrates the presence of all industry players to introduce supply of more safe and environment-friendly pesticide to contribute to China’s agricultural development on a sustainable basis.
