FMC presented its new ″Insecticide Program″, a set of solutions to protect sugarcane development.
The novelty was launched during the 19th Insectshow 2023 & Bioinsumos, in a busy lecture by Maurício Oliveira, Regional Marketing Manager at FMC, at which AgroPages was present.
The ″Insecticide Program″ for the sugarcane crop includes Premio Star (Chlorantraniliprole + Bifenthrin) and Verimark (Cyantraniliprole) insecticides, which provide treatment for the entire spectrum of pests in this crop.
Completing this platform is the insecticide Altacor (Chlorantraniliprole), a reference in the control of borers and other pests, which is also part of this portfolio.
The Premio Star insecticide, explains the FMC, offers protection for 50 biological targets in more than 50 crops.
This new technology offers control against the main sugarcane pests, such as the sugarcane boll weevil (Sphenophorus levis), the sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis), and the Migdolus.
Another FMC solution for sugarcane, Verimark combats both Sphenophorus and the sugarcane borer, in addition to being efficient against the leafhopper (Mahanarva fimbriolata), which can cause serious damage to crops.
″The entire sector suffers from these pests. To give you an idea, Sphenophorus can cause losses of up to 60% in sugarcane production,″ Maurício Oliveira said.
In the case of the borer, every 1% of an infestation can cause losses of up to three tons of sugarcane, and with the leafhopper, losses are up to 50% in productivity.
″With FMC's solutions, the producer manages to have better control of these pests and obtain greater gains in their crops,″ the FMC regional marketing manager said in conclusion.
