Recently a new method for mass production of oligosaccharin has been developed by Mr Zhu Yuliang, the professor of China Nanjing University of Technology enabling the industrialized production of bio-pesticide in China.

The scientific name of oligosaccharin is oligosaccharides activator, which is a kind of botanic immune activator made of pure glucose. The activator activates the immune system of plants to produce plenty of phytoalexin against infection, being very effective for prevention and control of rice blast, cotton fusarium wilt and other crop diseases, as well as for regulation and facilitation of growth of plants. The use of the product does not result in residues, neither causes any environmental pollution or any harms to human health.

Back in 2000, Professor Zhu started oligosaccharin experiment in Chinese Academy of Sciences, having achieved an initial success. Through repeated research and experiment, Professor Zhu has made innovative improvement to the synthetic process via the use of less-protected sugar as raw material for oligosaccharide synthesis, which greatly simplifies the synthesis procedure and enables easier achievement of pure chemical compound with uniform composition, thus reducing the cost of synthesis by 30% compared with similar product, making industrialization to become possible.

Oligosaccharin is now brought into mass production by a biotechnical company based in Nanjing, China. It is the world first botanic immune activator producer supported by its own intellectual property rights.
