The launch of Agro Club Tecnológico has been announced in Brazil—a new organization bringing together industry, consultancies, and universities to validate technologies before they reach the field.
The Agro Club Tecnológico will include companies from the agribusiness sector, consulting agencies, and universities. To date, more than 100 partners and producers have joined the project.
″In the face of challenges in the field, it is essential to develop innovations that meet the specific needs of Brazilian farmers and contribute to producing more in an increasingly sustainable way,″ said officials from Bayer, one of the members of the Agro Club Tecnológico.
Although companies may launch technological solutions, project organizers explain that ″they do not always work in practice, solving the farmers’ challenges. To ensure successful innovations reach them, the Agro Club Tecnológico was created.″
According to the founders, the Agro Club Tecnológico will test and validate innovative solutions developed by different companies. If approved, these solutions can reach producers more quickly, as the initiative allows innovations to be tested on regional farms and evaluated by different stakeholders, reducing the risk of inefficient solutions being adopted by farmers.
For Abdalah Novaes, Director of Digital Agricultural Solutions at Bayer for Latin America, this partnership complements the company’s customer-centric strategy.
″By being part of Agro Club Tecnológico, we have the opportunity to test and validate our innovations in the field and to contribute to the development of others, whether through mentorship, feedback, and/or validation,″ noted Novaes.
The process for technology validation involves several steps, including testing with farmers, mentorship with companies, partnerships, and evaluations in collaboration with universities. If the innovation is approved by this network, it receives a validation seal and the opportunity to be adopted by producers.
The initiative arose as a response to feedback from some producers in Rondonópolis, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, who faced challenges with the frequent offer of solutions from companies, startups, and independent professionals—solutions that did not always meet their expectations.
In response, Durval Carneiro, founder and CEO of Agro Club Tecnológico, together with Victor Griesang, president of CooperCotton, and Vicente Bissoni, CFO and Administrative Director of Grupo Botuverá, created the organization.
″Many producers will be able to share their needs with us, and together with other institutions, companies, and startups, we will co-create solutions that will help not only the region’s farmers, but those throughout the country. In this way, we can provide them what they truly need to achieve: greater productivity, in a responsible and sustainable way,″ added Carneiro.
