Founded with the mission of helping farmers feed a growing world population, the brand has evolved over six decades while maintaining a continuous focus on care — for plants, people and the planet. Since 1965, ASCENZA has earned the respect of the main players in the crop production sector in Portugal, consolidating its position as a benchmark in crop protection. In 1998, the company achieved leadership in the Portuguese market, and a year later, in 1999, it took the decisive step towards internationalisation, entering the Spanish market and consolidating its presence in important European countries such as France, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.


The expansion to the American continent marked a strategic milestone, with the beginning of trade expansion in Brazil in 2017 and in Mexico in 2020, reinforcing ASCENZA's international presence and demonstrating its ability to adapt to the needs of farmers on different continents.


This continuous growth has been sustained by solid investments in research, technological innovation and the modernisation of its manufacturing facilities in Setúbal, Portugal. With a robust portfolio that includes conventional and bio-protection products, the brand currently has more than 550 employees, over 950 product registrations and revenues exceeding €220 million (June 2025).
