In 2024, China's pesticide exports exhibited a "volume increase but price decrease" trend. The export scale reached a historical peak, with the export volume (calculated on a 100% active ingredient basis) reaching 2.05 million tons, an increase of nearly 500,000 tons compared to 2023, representing a 32% year-on-year growth. However, the export value only increased by 8% to reach $15.913 billion. Among these exports, three companies had export values exceeding $500 million: Rainbow Agro's export value was $1.867 billion, Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical had an export value of $831 million, and Fuhua Chemical reached $598 million.
The industry still faces pressures of supply-demand imbalance and intensified competition. Companies need to achieve transformation and upgrading through overseas formulation branding, expanding into emerging markets, and optimizing production capacity structures, in order to cope with the challenges of global supply chain fluctuations and increased international competition.
According to incomplete statistics, in 2024, there were 49 Chinese pesticide companies with export values exceeding $60 million, and their total export value reached $12.333 billion, accounting for 77.5% of China's total pesticide exports. Among them, seven companies had export values between $300 million and $500 million; 32 companies had export values between $100 million and $300 million; and seven companies had export values between $60 million and $100 million. Eight companies had export values accounting for over 50% of their 2024 sales. Compared to 2023, 18 companies saw a decline in export values, with 11 experiencing a drop of over 10%; while 31 companies saw an increase in export values, with 22 growing by more than 10%.
