Red Sun raises price for chlorantraniliprole technical with limited supply

On May 27, 2025, a sudden explosion in the chemical workshop of a chlorantraniliprole technical producer in Shandong Province attracted widespread attention. Industry insiders analyzed that the accident had a significant impact on the global and domestic supply of chlorantraniliprole. The shutdown not only led to a tight supply of upstream intermediates but also caused a severe shock to the raw material procurement of downstream formulation companies.

According to market data, the price of chlorantraniliprole technical was 210,000 yuan per ton at the beginning of 2024 and had rebounded to 230,000 yuan per ton before the accident. After the explosion, prices soared dramatically, with market quotations quickly rising to 350,000 yuan per ton. Some traders even quoted prices exceeding 400,000 yuan per ton for their stockpiled goods. In the short term, prices are expected to remain between 300,000 and 350,000 yuan per ton. The prices of K-acid and K-amine (key intermediates of chlorantraniliprole) also surged significantly, with K-amine increasing from 130,000 yuan per ton to 200,000–230,000 yuan per ton within just two days.
