CAC Cyproflanilide Approved as Group 30 Active Ingredient by IRAC

Recently, Cyproflanilide that invented by CAC Nantong Chemical Co, Ltd (Stock Code: 301665) has been officially classified as one of the Group 30 insecticides by Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC). Cyproflanilide is the 4^th insecticide to be included this group that commonly known as GABA-gated chloride channel allosteric modulators. The IRAC Mode of Action classification (MOA) is available on the website for reference: www.irac-online.org. In Group 30 insecticides, there are other three compounds, Broflanilide (meta-diamides), fluxametamide (isoxazolines,), and isocycloseram (isoxazolines) respectively.

Being the latest Group 30 insecticide, Cyproflanilide has an excellent overall profile in terms of high efficiency, low toxicity, broad insecticidal spectrum, good permeability, fast knockdown, and long-lasting effect. It can be used to effectively control various pests, Lepidoptera pests such as Spodoptera exigua, Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera litura, and Chilo suppressalis, Coleoptera pests such as flea beetle and leaf beetles, and Thysanoptera pests such as thrips. Cyproflanilide has novel insecticidal MOA, and it can block the activated γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) chloride channel through allosteric modulation, causing targeted pests with excessive excitement and spasms, ultimately leading to their death. It has no cross resistance with other groups’ insecticides and is essential for the integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Cyproflanilide has been proven with high efficacy against targeted pests through field trials in China, in Southeast Asia, South America , and it has significant market potential.

CAC has submitted cyproflanlide registration dossier in China, and in parrel, CAC along with its strategic partner is working actively on its registration process in oversea markets .
