The Brazilian Association of Bioinputs Industries (ABINBIO) has taken an important step towards connecting the Brazilian biological inputs sector with opportunities in the Chinese market.
During an official visit to the Chinese Embassy in Brasília, representatives of the organization presented the sector’s potential to the Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Xiang Yu, and discussed possible strategic partnerships between the two countries.
During the meeting, ABINBIO directors Auro Ruschel (Legal) and Mauro Heringer (International Relations), accompanied by Enrico Ribeiro from political consulting and government relations firm Consillium, outlined to the Chinese diplomat the current panorama of the Brazilian bioinputs industry. They detailed research processes, product development, and the fundamental concepts necessary to understand this rapidly growing sector in Brazil.
Bioinputs & Opportunities
ABINBIO presented a range of partnership possibilities between industries in both countries, including technical cooperation, acquisition of Brazilian companies, purchasing of Brazilian products, and even implementation of Brazilian bioinput companies in China.
Counselor Xiang Yu demonstrated particular interest in strengthening ties between the Brazilian and Chinese bioinputs sectors. "Brazil is China’s main economic partner in agriculture," the diplomat emphasized, highlighting his country’s interest in deepening this partnership, especially in areas such as low-carbon agriculture and productivity enhancement."
According to the Chinese representative, the bioinputs sector could play a strategic role in China’s plans to achieve agricultural self-sufficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and further strengthen Brazil–China relations. His statement reinforces the growing relevance of biological inputs in the global transition to more sustainable agriculture.
China International Import EXPO
One tangible outcome of the meeting was the invitation for ABINBIO to participate in the China International Import EXPO, China’s largest business fair, held annually in November in Shanghai. The event is considered a prime platform for suppliers and buyers to establish contacts and close business deals.
"This is the best opportunity for ABINBIO to directly present its products to Chinese buyers and connect with Chinese industries for future business," the Counselor stated, mentioning APEX Brasil as a partner in organizing the participation of Brazilian bioinputs companies in the event.
The rapprochement between ABINBIO and the Chinese Embassy marks a significant milestone for Brazil’s bioinputs sector, opening promising prospects for entry into one of the world’s largest agricultural markets, with the potential to drive innovation and investment in sustainable technologies for agriculture.
