Dabeinong Biotechnology receives Uruguayan cultivation approval for GM herbicide-tolerant soybeans

Beijing Dabeinong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has received safety evaluation review and cultivation approval from Uruguay's National Biosafety Cabinet (GNBio) for its genetically modified soybean varieties. The approval covers:

• Varieties containing genetic event DBN9004, which confers tolerance to glyphosate herbicides

• Varieties containing genetic event DBN8002, which provides insect resistance and glufosinate herbicide tolerance

• Stacked trait varieties combining DBN8002 × DBN9004

This development marks a significant expansion in the South American market for Dabeinong Biotechnology, particularly following its successful entry into the Argentine and Brazilian markets. The company's DBN8002 event previously received cultivation approval in Argentina in 2022 and in Brazil in 2024.

The company notes to investors that while these products have been licensed for cultivation in Uruguay, import licenses from major soybean-consuming countries will be required to achieve full free trade potential and widespread cultivation adoption.
