BASF presents new fungicide Dagonis® in Spain

BASF launched a new fungicide, Dagonis®, in Spain, that presents more than 30 combinations to tackle the main diseases of up to 18 crops.
José Francisco Ferre of BASF detailed the characteristics of Dagonis®, highlighting the "exceptional efficacy" of this fungicide due to the combination of difenoconazole and Xemium® (fluxapyroxad), a new molecule designed by BASF to obtain the best protection and for longer.
Not surprisingly, Xemium® has the unique ability to adapt to both lipophilic and hydrophilic environments, thus rapidly reaching the target pathogen. Ferre also stressed that Dagonis® is a persistent product, compatible with IPM programs, and that stands out for its short security deadlines. Together with Ferre, Cecilio Fernández, technical manager of Horticultural Crops of BASF, explained the results of different field trials, where the high efficacy and persistence of Dagonis® is demonstrated against problems of powdery mildew or alternating tomato and pepper in the greenhouse. In the case of curcubitaceae, Dagonis® has proven to be beneficial to powdery mildew and mycospharella.
The presentation ceremony of Dagonis® ended with a round table discussion in which the provincial general secretary of Agriculture, José Antonio Aliaga, participated, along with Manuel Galdeano, Coexphal, representative; Francisco Conde, farmer of Vicasol; and Silvia Cifre, representing BASF. The speakers agreed on the importance of disseminating good work on agricultural matters being done from Almeria, backed by only 0.4% of non-conformities in waste in Almeria, well below the European average (2.8%).
