The seminar Trade, Investments and Business Opportunities taking place Monday in this capital will increase economic links between Russia and Argentina, a diplomatic source from the South American country reported.

Underway in the Metropol Hotel's Conference Hall, the forum was organized on the occasion of the visit to Moscow of Argentinean President Cristina Fernandez, also attended by nearly 100 business people from that country, ambassador Leopoldo Bravo told Prensa Latina.

The stateswoman would arrive in today to attend the closing dinner of that managerial meeting, but she postponed her arrival until Tuesday, due to the funeral rites of Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexei II, deceased on December 5, Argentinean mass media informed.

Fernandez' agenda Tuesday will include meeting with his peer Dmitri Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, as well as attending the signing of a package of document at the Kremlin.

Bravo told that as a result of the Argentinean stateswoman's visit, a joint declaration will be issued "in which we will reaffirm the strategic relation."

The inter-state agreements will include the collaboration between the Argentinean Mining Geological Institute and the Russian Research Center for the Geological Prospecting of Basic Metals, he stated.

The parties will also ink a memorandum relative to security of vegetable-origin products supplied by Buenos Aires to Moscow. "This will allow agreeing on pesticides and agro-chemical products," the diplomat stressed.

Argentina is a great producer and supplier of foods worldwide, while Russia is one of the greater purchasers, Bravo said.
