Syngenta has recently received the LS registration approval for its fungicide fenpropidin 96% TC from the Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) for a year, becoming the first company to register the product in China. It has also obtained the registration for its mixture emulsion product (fenpropidin + propiconazole) for wheat powdery mildew.

Fenpropidine is a systemic and curative piperidine fungicide acting as sterol biosynthesis inhibitor with special effect on erysiphe graminis, rhynchosporium secalis and puccinia. The spraying dosage on cereal crop is 760g/ha. It can prevent barley powdery mildew and rust if sprayed at 500~700g(a.i.)/ha. The effectiveness lasts for about 28 days.

Currently, fenpropidine has been registered in European Union, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Portugal and many other countries.
