EU to approve biocide chlorfenapyr

The European Commission has amended the biocidal products Directive to include chlorfenapyr in Annex I, the list of approved active substances. The amending directive covers use of the substance in wood preservatives.

Member states have until April 2014 to transpose the directive into national legislation, and the amendment is applicable from 1 May 2015.
