AgroPages-Vietnam and Russia made a fertilizer joint venture agreement-Agricultural news

Russian and Vietnamese leaders have signed a joint venture agreement to build a US $1.5 billion fertilizer complex in Kalmykia, Russia.

Consuming natural gas extracted from the Caspian Sea, the complex is designed to produce 850,000 metric tons of ammonia and 750,000 metric tons of nitrogen fertilizers per year. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009, with fertilizer production estimated to start in the first half of 2013.
