Syngenta contracts for Scottish fungicide plantqrcode

Jacobs Engineering Group Jacobs, which provides technical, professional, and construction services globally with revenues exceeding US $11 billion, announced that it has received a contract from Syngenta to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services for a new fungicide manufacturing plant to be built at Grangemouth, Scotland. The contract value for the new plant, which will produce the active ingredient azoxystrobin, a naturally derived crop fungicide and one of Syngentas top products, was not disclosed.?

Syngenta also has an azoxystrobin plant at the existing Grangemouth facility. The new fungicide plant will be similar, except for debottlenecking in specific process areas. Jacobs is currently working on front-end engineering for the project. Plant construction will start in 2009, with production scheduled to begin in 2010.
