Signing ceremony for Agri-tech Demonstration Village Project held between Turpan and Syngentaqrcode

The Signing Ceremony for the Agri-tech Demonstration Village Project of was held in Beijing between the Bureau of Agriculture of Turpan Prefecture, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Syngenta (China)Investment Co. Ltd on Nov.4th, 2012.

Deputy Director-general of MOA Department of International Cooperation, Liu Yingjie, and Member of Turpan prefectural Party Committee Parhat Iburaim attended and addressed the ceremony.

The project is one of the major activities of the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture jointly set up by MOA Department of International Cooperation and Syngenta (China).

As the saying goes, it's better to teach a man to fish than give him a fish. Syngenta (China) will provide relevant products to farmers in Turpan and field its experts for technological guidance and training services. The project aims at introducing quality varieties and fine breeds, extending advanced and applicable technologies for crop cultivation and disease and pest control, developing agricultural industrial chain producing high value-added products and boosting local protected agriculture.

Liu underscored at the ceremony that China's agriculture is currently on the way of modernization. Chinese Government has always encouraged foreign enterprises' engagement in the development of modern agriculture in China.

The implementation of the project is expected to upgrade the local agricultural development level, increase farmers' income and promote the brand of Syngenta, and thus achieve win-win outcome.

Representatives from the MOA Department of International Cooperation, the Bureau of Agriculture of Turpan and the Syngenta (China) attended the Signing Ceremony.
