The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is weighing a Federal Court ruling to reverse its decision to recall 52 agrochemicals supplied by Imtrade Australia. The APVMA ordered the recall after an investigation into regulatory compliance. The recall was subsequently put on hold pending the Court decision. The APVMA acknowledges that the Court “was not persuaded that [the] registrations … were invalid”, says the APVMA’s regulatory strategy and compliance manager, Neville Matthew. The decision is “lengthy and complex and decisions are yet to be made”, he notes. “We will need to consider the implications of the judgement and will continue to keep our stakeholders informed,” Mr Matthew adds.
