Arysta LifeScience has signed an agreement with Bayer CropScience for the global licensing and sale of fluoxastrobin, Bayer’s patented strobilurin fungicide. Under the agreement, Arysta LifeScience will gain exclusive access to fluoxastrobin for all crop and non-crop applications except seed treatment and certain proprietary Bayer mixtures.

The parties did not disclose the financial details of the agreement.

In 2005, Arysta LifeScience first licensed fluoxastrobin from Bayer for development in the USA, Canada and Japan. Arysta LifeScience has successfully launched and marketed two brand families (DISARM® and EVITO® fungicides) based on the active ingredient. Arysta LifeScience now intends to build on that success by both leveraging existing products and developing new fluoxastrobin products in all six of its business units around the world.

"Fluoxastrobin is a very versatile fungicide and a valuable tool for growers,” said Paula Pinto, Head of Global Marketing, Arysta LifeScience. “It provides broad-spectrum disease control and has demonstrated excellent plant health properties. We intend to develop fluoxastrobin for use in a wide range of crops including corn, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, vegetables, sugarcane, pome fruit and turfgrass.”
