The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved registration of Valent U.S.A. Corporation’s Valor for corn. The first preemerge PPO herbicide for field corn – and a new mode of action for farmers to control tough weeds — Valor can be used from 14 days prior to planting no-till or minimal till field corn.
Valor brand manager Jamie Nielson says: "Valor is a great tool for controlling such tough broadleaf weeds as common ragweed, lambsquarters, marestail, Palmer pigweed and waterhemp. Valor also offers competitive grass control so corn farmers have superior weed control and maximum yield results."
"In our trials, Valor plus atrazine has demonstrated better performance on broadleaf weeds and competitive grass control compared to other preemerge corn herbicides," adds John Pawlak, Valor product development manager.
