US panel to examine chlorpyrifos

The US EPA has invited applications from scientists to join a rescheduled meeting of its FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) to evaluate the organophosphate insecticide, chlorpyrifos. The meeting will focus on studies on the effects of chlorpyrifos on children through exposure before and after birth, and studies on variable population effects. The SAP meeting will take place on September 16th-18th in Arlington, Virginia. It was originally scheduled for this month. The EPA plans to start the registration review for chlorpyrifos in December 2008.
