AgroPages-Sumitomo’s agrochemcial sales ahead in first-half-Agricultural news

Despite the decrease in the value of sales of overseas subsidiaries in yen terms because of the effects of a stronger yen, Sumitomo Chemical’s agricultural segment, which includes feed additives, sales rose by 10.1% to ¥138.5 billion in the first half year ended September 30th, 2011. Agrochemical figures were not given separately. Operating income improved by ¥0.4 billion, to ¥14.8 billion. In the area of crop protection chemicals, shipments of herbicides remained strong in overseas markets.
