China's pesticide exports up by 14% in 2010

According to statistic from the ICAMA, volume of China pesticide exports has grown by 14.3% to 1,216,300 tons, and the value has increased by 13.8% to $4.84 billion in the year of 2010. Volume of the ais was 621,300 tons, upped by 8.3% year on year and the value has grown by 9.6% to $3.122 billion. For formulation products, the volume was 595,100 tons, upped by 20.5% and the value was $1.726 billion, upped by 21.5%.

Regions and countries

As the largest buyer of China, totally 462,100 tons which valued at $1.808 billion of the pesticide was imported by Asia, upped by 13.6% and 14.39% respectively. Proportion for Chinese export volume and value were 40% and 37.3%.

Latin America took the second place by taking 22.4% and 22.2% proportion of the export volume and value. 273,000 tons, valued at $1.078 billion of the pesticide was imported by Latin America.

Adverse sale of the herbicide glyphosate has made North America the only shrunk market of pesticide from China. 104,000 tons and $593 million of the products was imported by North America, dropped by 40.9% and 17.4% for volume and value respectively. And the proportion of the volume and value were 8.6% and 12.2% respectively.

Oceania was the most growing importer from China. 79,400 tons and $ 283 million of the pesticide was imported and the proportion were 6.5% and 12.2% for volume and value respectively.

Though North America been the only decreased market of Chinese pesticide, the US remains the largest destination country of China with the import of 93,533 tons, which valued at $571 million. Some Asian countries such as Thailand and Pakistan used to be the top buyer of China, have no longer ranked on the top 5 after 2005.
