AgroPages-Bayer, Syngenta team up on new trait-Agricultural news

Syngenta and Bayer CropScience have announced a “co-development agreement” on a new HPPD herbicide tolerant trait for soybeans.

The companies say the HPPD trait will help soybean growers faced with increasing pressure from resistant weeds and expand the market opportunity for herbicides such as CALLISTO and Balance.

According to a Syngenta news release, the trait is in early development with its launch in North America expected in the second half of this decade.
