The cultivation of coffee is extremely important for Brazilian agribusiness, since Brazil is the world's largest producer of coffee beans. With a history intertwined with the history of the country itself, coffee growing has evolved considerably and is continuing to evolve and expand today. With this in mind, cultivation techniques, used products and the quality of Brazilian coffee also evolved. In this sense, some products that stand out are foliar fertilizers and biofertilizers.

In coffee cultivation, the use of foliar and biofertilizers aims to meet the nutritional requirements of coffee plants and offer greater "physiological efficiency," a term used to characterize plantations at their best capacity to absorb and use nutrients and improve quality and, consequently, productivity. Currently, producers are increasingly looking for products that achieve this function.

Cleber Bianchi Possebon, Regional Manager of Microquimica Tradecorp, a company that produces and commercializes biofertilizers, foliar fertilizers, inoculants, adjuvants and plant growth regulators, explained that by using a biofertilizer on crops, it is possible to obtain the maximum potential returns from plants from the start of cultivation to full development, because these products assist in the creation of a balanced overall environment. “For example, Vorax® Biofertilizante, in addition to stimulating the development of plants, also reduces damage caused by stress, especially water. Therefore, there is more growth of branches and roots and improvement in fruits, making the harvest higher quality and more productive,” Possebon said.

To further maximize results, Possebon pointed out that coffee crops register an even greater production increase with the combined use of Vorax® Biofertilizante and the leaf fertilizer, Pumma®, with nutrients enriched with organic parcels that promote an effect known as “osmoregulation”, which maintains the photosynthetic activity of plants even in moderate stress conditions, ensuring that their vegetative and reproductive development is close to the ideal conditions for their development.

Together, biofertilizers and foliar fertilizers provide enriched nutrition and stimulus for crops, significantly helping coffee farmers obtain better and more productive and profitable crops.

Other solutions

In addition to Vorax Biofertilizante and Pumma, the company also offers other products for coffee growers. “We are the first company in Brazil to launch products for cultures within our segment. For example, we have the Ager line, which comprises liquid micronutrients based on chloride, such as Grex Café, a pioneering foliar fertilizer in the country with a balanced ratio of macro and micronutrients, providing nutrients in a balanced way to plants. We are also pioneers in developing products based on algae extracts for crops, in addition to many other solutions for coffee producers,” Possebon added.

Another solution for coffee growers is the CheckFolha Café application, which is designed to help in the area of crop nutrition security by analyzing leaves and identifying the best actions for good development. The app has a mode of interpretation through nutritional relationships, which makes it possible to make evaluations at any stage of the culture. It is available to download on Play Store and App Store.
