Global Agro and Ecospray sign a sole distribution agreement for Nemguard in Asian markets

Global Agro, the biological solution provider & bio-technology company in Korea has announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement to sell Ecospray’s Nemguard, biological nematicide in a number of Asian countries.

Based in the UK, Ecospray has researched, developed and registered an extract of garlic as a soil applied nematicide for use in a variety of crops and amenity uses. Nemguard is the only garlic based bionematicide with EU Annex 1 approval along with a number of Annex 3 finished product registrations. It is also registered in an increasing number of other non-European countries.   

With the start of this agreement, Global Agro will distribute Nemguard, in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia and Sri Lanka as a sole distributor in these countries.

Unlike unregistered garlic compounds, Ecospray’s patented technology has enabled a stabilized form of garlic extract to be produced and registered, providing effective, consistent results.

“Nemguard is not only a designated zero residue compound meaning harvest intervals are not an issue it also forms part of a soil health/fertility strategy, As effective as conventional nematicides. Nemguard is an important tool in order to help feed an increasing global population but in a more sustainable fashion ” said Dr Murree Groom, Technical Director for Ecospray.  

The bio-pesticide market in Asia is estimated to be steadily growing with a big growth potential. Research has shown that pathogenic nematodes are the single most damaging pests of global agriculture so an effective bio-nematicide able to control pathogenic nematodes is increasingly needed by professional farmers who are experiencing chemical-resistant nematodes and concerns about chemical residues in their harvested crops.
