Adama recently obtained registration for the fungicide, Across (azoxystrobin + chlorothalonil + difenoconazole), an innovative solution with a formula that combines triple control actions and can be used on 12 crops, which are cotton, soy, corn, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, peanuts, peas, chickpeas, cowpea, lentils and millet.

Currently, diseases represent a major challenge facing farmers in obtaining high productivity in different cultures, due to their increasingly early occurrence and greater severity. In addition, the problems of fungal resistance to the most widely used fungicides are advancing rapidly from the north to the south of Brazil, resulting in damage and higher handling costs and, consequently, losses for farmers. In the case of soybeans, annual production losses of around 15% to 20% are estimated as a result of these attacks, but this may exceed 80% in extreme cases.

Since its development in 2014, Across has undergone more than 300 tests carried out by the most renowned research institutions in Brazil. The triad of its composition was created based on the needs of farmers and to offer various benefits, such as high efficiency, broad spectrum of disease control, high selectivity to cultures and a powerful tool for resistance management.

Resistance management: Multiple modes of action, with complementary assets and the presence of a highly efficient protective fungicide.

"Across comes with an exclusive combination on the market within a technological formulation that is easy to apply and highly efficient. We are offering a powerful tool capable of combating the issue of resistance. We are also bringing, to the market, an innovation that arrived at an opportune moment. The increase in resistance to fungicides and losses caused by diseases are issues of concern for Brazilian farmers, and we have arrived to deliver a solution," said Gerson Dalla Corte (Adama's Product Manager).

Across is expected to be sold in the first half of 2021 and is another solution offered by Adama as part of a robust portfolio aimed at meeting the needs of farmers. Increasingly, the company has focused on the challenges faced by farmers, as well as supported and met global demand for greater food production.
