Pyribambenz-propyl


Pyribambenz-propyl is a new type of pyrimidine herbicide jointly developed by China’s Zhejiang Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, which can effectively control annual grass weeds and some broad-leaved weeds. It is a common herbicide in rape field. The Chinese patent of pyribambenz-propyl has expired on October 15, 2020.

Pyroxsulam


Pyroxsulam is a sulfonamide herbicide compound developed by Dow AgroScience (now Corteva), which is used for selective weeding in winter wheat fields, with a wide herbicidal spectrum, high herbicidal activity and fast efficacy. Pyroxsulam has a very broad weed-killing spectrum. It has a good effect on common grass weeds in wheat fields, also with certain control effect on broad-leaved weeds. It has no cross-resistance with fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, clodinafop-propargyl, etc. In 2018, the global sales of pyroxsulam was 219 million USD. The Chinese patent for pyroxsulam will expire in 2021.

Saflufenacil


Saflufenacil is a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor developed by BASF. As a non-selective herbicide, it can effectively control a variety of broad-leaved weeds and has characteristics such as fast action and long residual effect. Saflufenacil can be used on more than 30 crops including grains, corn, cotton, rice, sorghum, soybeans and fruit trees. In 2018, the global sales of saflufenacil was 209 million USD. The Chinese patent for saflufenacil will expire on April 30, 2021.

Now FMC has the exclusive license to develop, register, manufacture and sell valifenalate in mixtures in Latin America, North America and select other countries. The Chinese patent for valifenalate expired on November 29, 2019.
