Tecnomyl Argentina launched new sulfentrazone herbicide to combat glyphosate-resistant weeds

Tecnomyl Argentina launched the Guerrer herbicide on the market, which acts on weeds that are resistant to other active ingredients, including glyphosate. 

According to the manufacturer, the agrochemical is highly effective and with a broad spectrum that can control multiple weeds and is recommended for different crops.

Its active ingredient is sulfentrazone, and the company will market it at a concentration of 50%, which is distinguished by its high efficiency in controlling the most difficult weeds, especially those that are already resistant to other types of active ingredients, such as Amaranthus hybridus (Ex A. quitensis) and Amaranthus palmeri.

The herbicide can be used in pre-planting or pre-emergence. The product is selected for the cultivation of soybeans in the two application moments and can also be used in sunflower and peanut crops during pre-sowing.

To control weeds, it is essential to have a herbicide that solves this problem and at the same time has the least impact on the environment, as is the case with Guerrer, points out Gustavo Silva, Commercial Manager of Tecnomyl Argentina. He noted that the main advantage of Guerrer's active ingredient is the long-lasting control it has over the most difficult weeds, including those resistant to glyphosate.

“Currently, there are many weeds that have become resistant to certain modes of action in products such as glyphosate and some graminicides. Tecnomyl Argentina's new herbicide develops a different mode of action in resistant weeds, which makes it an effective product,” the manager explained.

With a new member in its product palette, Tecnomyl Argentina is looking to make advances in the new technologies under production in the country and making innovations in the formulations to make them environment-friendly.

Among the benefits offered by this herbicide, Silva highlighted its control spectrum, the versatility at the time of application and the control of weeds resistant to other herbicides.

“It is an efficient, broad-spectrum product that we produce in our Tierra del Fuego factory, so it is a solution of excellent quality, without limitations and at a competitive price,” the commercial manager added.
