This biostimulant improves the plants' ability to absorb and retain water, both in cases of scarcity and in optimal conditions.

The photographs, taken on 05/18/2020, show that there is no difference between the areas irrigated at 100% (above) and the areas irrigated on a daily basis (with a 25-30% reduction in water consumption) when treated with Talete (below).

The main results obtained from the application of Talete in strawberry crops of the Inspire and Victori varieties in the province of Huelva are: a 25-30% decrease in water consumption, the same production volume as untreated areas, and easier harvesting as a consequence of a lower foliar mass.

During the latter stages of the 2019/2020 berry campaign, SP Soluciones Agrícolas presented this biostimulant from its supplier Valagro, which improves the ability of plants to absorb and retain water. With the start of the new season just around the corner, this company took another step forward and presented the results of the tests it carried out with Talete on strawberries. The tests were undertaken during the months of April and May in Huelva farms.

In the first test, the crops were irrigated on a daily basis, which meant there was a 25-30% decrease in water consumption. There was no production loss in this area, as it yielded as much as the control areas. Furthermore, the smaller foliar mass in the area treated with Talete facilitated harvesting the strawberry, a job that could be done faster and, therefore, with less labor.

In the second farm, the sandy soil gave rise to problems in the assimilation of water, which in turn caused a stop in the growth of the plant, but which ended up reaching the same size as the rest with the help of Talete.

In both cases, 5 liters of Talete were applied every 15 days, which makes a total of 20 liters per hectare of this novel biostimulant.
