Your Excellency, Ambassador,
We are the group “Amigos da Soja” (Friends of Soy), an informal group of friends, non-political and totally non-profit, composed by 250 people honestly involved in the soybean, maize and cotton chain, whose members are distributed in all the producing states of Brazil, from north to south of the country.
With that, we respectfully address this simple letter to the honorable ambassador of the People's Republic of China, as the legitimate representative of the Chinese people in Brazil, to express our appreciation for the friendship and commercial cooperation between our countries.
Since the 2000s, the Brazilian agricultural sector has entered a phase of vigorous growth, which enabled the development of regions that were previously isolated, precisely because China has become an important buyer of agricultural commodities.
China has been a loyal, collaborative and stable partner that has allowed us to achieve ever higher levels of remittances from the beginning.
In this moment of profound worldwide consternation, which caused widespread nervousness and especially the irresponsible distribution of slanders and defamations, which are absolutely unfair against China, we want to register, on the other hand, our sincere recognition and solidarity.
We are a small sample of Brazilian farmers and professionals dedicated to the production of food and raw materials for the Agro-industry in a sustainable way, we speak in our own name and with free initiative, we are not subordinate to the government and we are not acting under the influence and / or any party interference, we sincerely hope that normality will be restored as soon as possible and that the traumatic experience of the Coronavirus will serve everyone as an opportunity for closer collaboration between peoples.
