Sipcam presented “Viticulture of the future” at Agrovid in Spain

SpainLast week, more than 5,000 professionals attended Agrovid, a fair specializing in vineyard cultivation, organised by the Fair Institution of Castilla y León. Sipcam Iberia was present at the fair and premiered its stand featuring all its products for vineyards. It also organized a presentation, titled, “Viticulture of the Future: Tools for a Profitable and Sustainable Production.”
The first day of the event was a success in terms of both attendance rate and the visit of Jesús Julio Carnero (Minister of Agriculture of Castilla y León). Juan Carlos Prieto (Head of the Agricultural Research at Itacyl) said that that Agrovid has been key to the community, as it has enabled local wine growers, winemakers and researchers to showcase their work on over 75,000 hectares of vineyards located in nine provinces.
From 30th January to 1st February, Sipcam Iberia participated in the event, but it had a special role on Friday, 31st January, during a talk, titled, “Viticulture of the Future.” Xose Lois Devesa (Responsible for Operational Marketing and Crop Manager at Viña) inaugurated the presentation by welcoming over 70 attendees, who learned about the trends of the phytosanitary vine market. He was followed by Antonio Alcázar (Technical Coordinator of Zerya) who explained how to achieve, through a soil-water-plant system, balanced nutrition and improve the quality of wine.Daniel Mulas (Responsible for Bioprotection and Biotics) and José Ramón Gómez (Delegate of Operational Marketing and Vineyard Specialist) closed the day by presenting Sipcam Iberia’s latest product this season, ARAW, a new preventive-curative fungicide to control Botritis that is free of MRLs.”
After the end of the first day, the fair’s team and invited distributors were able to taste local cuisine during a meal where they shared their impressions, anecdotes and conclusions about the future of viticulture.
Together with a hundred companies, Sipcam Iberia’s stand received constant visits and presented its catalog of products, services and solutions.
More than just a fair, Agrovid has become a forum for spreading and presenting news of the company’s success, leading to new contacts and business opportunities.
