Rotam Registers Primero In US
Feb. 12, 2008
Rotam North America has received US registration for its Primero (nicosulfuron) herbicide in the US, according to a company release. The postemergence sulfonylurea herbicide can be used in all varieties of field corn including popcorn, sweet corn, and corn grown for seed, and is especially effective in controlling escaped grasses, says the company.
Rotam produces all its sulfonylurea herbicides in dedicated manufacturing facilities, giving the company control over product quality from active synthesis through port of delivery, including formulation and packaging, the release notes. "Our goal is to provide top quality sulfonylureas at performance and cost levels that will optimize grower profits," said Tom Chavez, Rotam country manager.
Rotam also recently registered Volta (thifensulfuron-methyl) for broadleaf weed control in grains, corn, and soybeans. For pasture and rangeland, Rotam offers Plotter (metsulfuron-methyl).
