BASF recently launched its state-of-the-art fungicide Priaxor (pyraclostrobin.fluxapyroxad 43% SC) for prevention and control of corn leaf blight in China. The release of the new product adds a powerful newcomer to BASF’s AgCelence series(12th product), which is another edge tool for prevention and control of corn leaf blight. The product is expected to become BASF’s strong backup in its business growth in crop field applications.

The product is a combination of the two active ingredients: fluxapyroxad (trade-marked as Xemium®) and pyraclostrobin (trade-marked as F500®).

Fluxapyroxad is BASF’s patented active ingredient, which has a strong capability of distribution and incomparable systemicity, being both protective and curative in early stages against fungal diseases on various crops. Its mixture with BASF’s strong active ingredient pyraclostrobin (sole “Crop Health Function” registered product as approved by Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs) not only enables fast action, but also lasts much longer, while delaying occurrences of resistance. Moreover, the mixture product has distinctive crop health advantages of the AgCelence series, which can improve crop growth and enhance the stress resistance of crops. The distinctive advantages of Priaxor can be briefed as the following:

-    Excellent prevention and control effect: effective in control of corn leaf blight
-    Long-lasting effect: longer protection of crops from disease
-    Distinctive AgCelence Crop Health Function: increasing crop activity, prolonging crop senescence, withstanding external adversity, enhancing substance conversion within crops.
-    Excellent resistance management tools: dual action site, delaying occurrences of resistance.

Furthermore, Priaxor has the highest pyraclostrobin content among all BASF’s pyraclostrobin-containing products. Priaxor will be registered to cover applications of more crops, such as peanut, wheat and soybean, and is expected to become a strong driver to BASF’s business growth in crop field applications.
