Rantizo meets with Lt. Governor Adam Gregg in Iowa City

Rantizo is an Iowa based agricultural tech startup creating a targeted drone spraying platform that utilizes electrostatic technology to safely and precisely deliver cartridge dispensed agrichemicals when and where they are needed.

One key feature of the Rantizo platform is data. “There are many drone companies out there that just collect field data,” stated Rantizo CEO, Michael Ott. “The problem is, that’s where it stops. ” Ott continued by saying, “We differentiate by taking that data, analyzing it in real time, and then prescribing treatments to problem areas in the field for swift and safe application of necessary solutions. That is what sets our platform apart.”
Rural broadband connectivity is crucial for the success of the Rantizo business model which was a hot topic of conversation during the Lieutenant Governor’s visit. “New funding options were created by Congress and it was top of mind for our team to learn what initiatives the state of Iowa will be taking,” Ott explained.

“It’s an exciting time for precision agriculture and ag tech,” Ott said. “That being said, it’s important for us to be smart about it and thoughtful. Part of that involves a vast understanding of the regulatory environment and how we can work with legislators to make advancements that benefit everyone. Our meeting with Lieutenant Governor Gregg was a step in the right direction,” he finished.

Last month, Michael and the Rantizo team took home the Grand Prize award and $20,000 with the winning business pitch at the Ag Tech Innovation Competition in Des Moines. Currently recently inked a deal to become an authorized distributor of China-based drone company DJI’s Agras MG-1P drone.
