Evaluation of characterization of our wheat genetics and varieties just became stronger. KWS Cereals, LLC, based in Champaign, IL has expanded its testing locations network by entering into university testing programs across the eastern US for the 2019 growing season. The new testing locations are located in Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina & Georgia. These new locations are in addition to the existing university work being carried out in Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.

“Extending our university testing program allows us to gain a more comprehensive characterization of our product’s performance and adaptation. We are now testing in all of the major SRW and SWW wheat producing areas in the eastern US,” says James Gillum, Wheat Product Manager, KWS Cereals North America. “This new testing strategy will allow us to place products with greater accuracy into the marketplace. Our customers will be able to utilize this data to match our products with their growers. Having the resolution to place the right product, with the right grower, in the right region, will optimize the true potential of our varieties”

KWS Cereals LLC North America is a division of German-based KWS Saat SE, located in Einbeck, Germany. With the success of KWS’s strategy around the world it seemed fitting to have a location in the US offering genetics and varieties developed specifically for the very regionalized US market.

“Plant breeding and productivity are the foundations of KWS, and offering high quality, competitive wheat and hybrid rye varieties that perform well are reasons why we are in the North American markets,” says Stefan Brüns, International Commercial Director, KWS Cereals. “We firmly believe that, through grower collaboration and a strong commitment to our customer’s success, we will see great shared success.”

KWS Cereals, based in Champaign, IL was formed in 2010 to meet the growing demand of cereals seed providers requiring high quality germplasm that offers highly competitive performance.
