AgroPages-Flutriafol registered for use in tobacco for the first time in China-Agricultural news

According to China Pesticide Registration Watch, on the 26th September, registration of flutriafol 25% SC, filed by Kunming Baishide Biochemical Technology Ltd, was approved by China's ICAMA ( Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture) for application for the prevention and control of tobacco powdery mildew, which is the first-time registration of flutriafol for use in tobacco.

At an earlier date, ICAMA granted registration of flutriafol for use in wheat powdery mildew, rust disease, head blight, rice false smut, sheath blight and strawberry powdery mildew.

Flutriafol is a triazole fungicide, which is a systemic inside plant and can be absorbed by root, stem and the leaf of plants, and is then transferred upward to the vascular bundle. The product is preventive and therapeutic against various diseases caused by basidiomycetes and ascomycetes. It also possesses a certain degree of function in fumigation.
