Price and Supply: China’s pesticide technical remains at high price levels

2018ACE was held at Shanghai EXPO, as planned, which attracted much attention from the industry . The minimal relief in the industry's supply side still remains a concern, which is the main reason for the ongoing contradictions in supply.
As production at chemical industrial parks recovered later than was expected, ex-work prices remain at high levels. Also, the lower return of downstream plantations has not yet been alleviated , but will surely replace the source of supplies for Chinese domestic pesticide formulations. Further, the domestic market is confronted by the demand for a buildup of inventories, the cost of which will be continuously passed on .
The requirement for a shutdown of production during the heating season of the “2+26” cities, as well as ecological treatment along the Yangtze, and strict environmental compliance inspections in chemical production provinces, such as in Jiangsu Province, still continue to be the main causes restricting supplies at a later stage. The Sino-US trade conflict may not harm business, in which the world pesticide industry relies on imports of Chinese pesticides, and the pesticide technical market is expected to remain at high price levels, in the short run.
Herbicide Market
Compared to last year, the prices of glufosinate technical, glyphosate technical, diquat technical, pendimethalin technical, acetochlor technical, propisochlor technical and metolachlor technical have fallen while that of pretilachlor technical, butachlor technical, fomesafen technical, haloxyfop-R-methyl and metolachlor technical remained the same. The prices of all other varieties, however, are rising.
Compared to last week, the prices of benzooxamide technical, glufosinate technical, diuron technical, oxadiazon technical, trifluralin technical, quizalofop-p-ethyl technical, fluroxypyr-mepthyl technical, bentazone AS, clethodim technical, acetochlor technical and atrazine technical are rising, while the remainder of the herbicides are the same.

Insecticide Market
Compared to last year, the prices of imidacloprid technical, pymetrozine technical, acetamiprid technical, dinotefuran technical, clothianidin technical, thiamethoxam technical have fallen while that of dipterex technical, dichlorvos technical, beta-cypermethrin mother liquid, propargite technical, isocarbophos technical and omethoate technical have not changed. The prices of all other varieties, however, are rising.
Compared to last week, the prices of dinotefuran technical, phoxim technical, pyridaben technical, carbosulfan technical, chlorpyrifos technical, bifenthrin technical and monosultap technical are rising, while all other insecticides stay the same.

Fungicide Market
Compared to last year, the prices of pyraclostrobin technical, boscalid technical, oxadiazine and 1-Methyl-3-nitroguanidine have fallen while that of propiconazole technical, mancozeb WP, thiram technical, 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl) pyridine and methyl-4-pentenoic acid methyl ester have not risen. Though prices of all other varieties are rising.
Compared to last week, the prices of pyraclostrobin technical, oxadiazine, 1-Methyl-3-nitroguanidine have fallen while that of chlorothalonil technical, carbendazim technical, thiophanate-methyl technical, dimethomorph technical, 2-chloro-chloromethylpyridine and cyanuric chloride are rising, while the remainder of fungicides and intermediates stay the same.
