CUPRATEC, developed by the Grupo Agrotecnología, was successfully registered with COFEPRIS (Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk) as a biopesticide in Mexico, a new and key registration bolstering its international expansion. Its exclusive formulation endows it with a remarkable capacity for systemic action in plants.

Grupo Agrotecnología, a leading company in the areas of biostimulants, biopesticides, and biofertilizers, and a pioneer in the Zero Residue strategy, has obtained from COFEPRIS a biopesticide registration for its CUPRATEC product in Mexico. This Biopesticide registration, valid until 30 May 2023, constitutes a guarantee on the market when proposing specific solutions adapted to the characteristics and needs of Mexican agriculture. One of the foreign subsidiaries owned by the Group is located in Mexico, where it is working continuously and with special dedication to incorporate new strategies and synergies adapted to the paradigm shift towards sustainable agriculture.

CUPRATEC is a miscellaneous biopesticide that has been registered for the following diseases and crops: Greasy Spot (Mycosphaerella Citri) in citrus (lemon, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, tangerine, lime, grapefruit); Bacterial Spot (Xanthomonas sp./Pseudomonas sp.) in eggplant, chilli, bell peppers, tomato, potato, tobacco, tomatillo; and, finally, Pseudomonas sp. in Cucurbitaceae, including cucumber, squash, chayote, chilacayote, watermelon, melon, and zucchini.
The exclusive Cupratec formula does not generate phytotoxicity problems. It is highly soluble, and does not lead to contamination from excess copper in soils. And, as a copper featuring high assimilation, it has a more lasting curative effect against diseases.

The new bioplaguicide registration of CUPRATEC in Mexico for the Grupo Agrotecnología marks one more achievement in line with the guidelines governing its international expansion, as a result of continuous work and major investments made in the Zero Residue biostimulants and biopesticides sector.

Grupo Agrotecnología CEO Enrique Riquelme told us that "currently, we are engaged in an internationalisation process to strengthen our presence in new markets and become a clear global leader". This new Biopesticide registration is the 9th for the company. According to Riquelme, "we plan to expand up to 15 registrations in the next two years, thereby ranking first in terms of natural biopesticide registrations on the market"
