Sabero Organics commences work for new plant at India, Dahejqrcode

Sabero Organics is in the process of setting up a Greenfield project at Dahej SEZ in Gujarat for which the work has already commenced and is expected to be commissioned by Q3 FY2011. The total capacity of this export oriented unit is around 2,650 MT per annum of technical active ingredients. The facility will also improve the internal capabilities for the Companys branded business with the setting up of a facility for packaging of products under the Companys own brand. Total project cost of Rs. 55 crore to be financed by a combination of USD denominated External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) of USD 9 million and balance through Internal Accruals. Project has achieved financial closure.

New product registrations obtained by the Company includes: (a) Acephate Technical and Acephate 90% Prills in the USA as the source to a MNC, (b) Glyphosate Technical in Spain and Glyphosate 360 SL in Germany (c) Chlorpyriphos Technical and Mancozeb Technical in China and (d) Mancozeb Technical in Brazil.

Sabero Organics has also been added as a source of Glyphosate and Mancozeb in 11 and 20 countries respectively. Some of them include the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Ireland, South Africa and Netherlands.

In FY10, Sabero Organics introduced Methamidaphos. Methamidaphos, an insecticide, is used across several fruit and vegetable produce and is sold in South America and Africa. Sabero is now one of the main suppliers of Methamidaphos in the world. The Company also introduced a new environmentally friendly formulation, Acephate prills for sale in Latin and North America.

Further, Sabero debottlenecked Monocrotophos plant to increase the capacity to 4,400 tpa. (Expanded operations commenced in mid May). Chloropyriphos plant is also being debottlenecked and modernized and is expected to be completed by Q2 FY2011 resulting in 50 percent increase in capacity and better efficiencies. New product introduction plan for Q2FY2011 includes Pretilichlor (rice herbicide), Trycyclazole (rice fungicide), Trichlopyr (Herbicide) and Propineb (broad spectrum fungicide).
