Arysta LifeScience highlights biosolutions as trend in agriculture

Arysta LifeScience, a global agricultural company specialized in the sale and distribution of innovative technologies for crop protection and life sciences, highlighted that biological control was fundamental, especially as the society demanded more environment-friendly and sustainable products with less residue. Sustainable use in conjunction with agrochemical technologies having physio-activators and biological products is the future, not only for the control of pests and diseases in agriculture, but also to ensure the quality of food that is put on the table of the final consumer.
The use of biological control technologies is not new in Brazil. It has been around since 1980, but at that time it was used in a more amateur manner. In recent years, there has been an increase in the research for more sustainable products, which do not harm the environment and preserve natural enemies, and which are safer and could reduce the residue levels on plants. The entry of large crop defense companies in this market has tended to make the dissemination, transfer and adoption of biocontrol technologies faster, more widespread and more effective. Arysta's view is that this trend will continue. The global market increasingly demands sustainability in agriculture.
"I believe that the main doubts of farmers today are about how to perform pest and disease management using a combination of conventional pesticides and biosolutions to optimize control, taking into account the best application and use of windows. This provides us with solid data on how to monitor and use the products, as well as how to optimize their use in a rational and sustainable management program," said Marcelo Zanchi, Director of Marketing in Brazil at Arysta LifeScience.

With this in mind, the company created the Pronutiva program. The alternation of products provides efficiency gains and minimizes residues, in addition to allowing for better management of pest and disease resistance. This results in significant gains for the environment, the farmer, the industry and, especially, the consumer. Providing healthy food and making the production process more sustainable is Arysta's main goal, resulting in better quality of food, as well as gains in productivity and profitability for the farmers," explained Zanchi.
