As part of the Better Seed, Better Life (BSBL) communications initiative, the American Seed Trade Association is launching a new seed ambassador program! ASTA is seeking the help of its members in nominating up-and-coming seed-industry leaders to be part of this exciting program’s inaugural class. The new Seed Ambassador Leadership Team (SALT) will help take communications efforts to the next level by actively engaging, promoting and supporting the seed industry with a unified voice.

For the inaugural class, ASTA is seeking a diverse, cross-sector group of individuals from within its member companies who have a high potential to be great amplifiers of the BSBL story.  Nominated individuals must commit to participating in hands-on, full day training workshops to take place on the following dates:

Monday, December 4, 2017 in Chicago (in conjunction with ASTA’s CSS); or
Friday, January 26, 2018 in San Diego (in conjunction with ASTA’s Veg. & Flower Conference)

Workshops will feature expert speakers, and provide interactive training in areas such as: traditional media (including mock interview scenarios), social media strategy, identifying individual communications strengths, and how to share your story as an every-day ambassador. The are no “requirements” of the group, other than participating in a training workshop, and being willing to stay in contact with ASTA and help amplify the messages on social media, within their companies, and/or at local community events.

Please send nominations (no later than Sept. 29) to Bethany Shively at bshively@betterseed.org. For each nomination, include the following: 1) name, 2) contact info., 3) company, 3) sector/crop, 4) one-two sentences on why you recommend them.
