The new herbicide 'Metamifop' developed by FarmHannong is exported to Malaysia as a finished product named 'Pyzero'. This is the first time metamifop is exported as a finished product, and 'Pyzero' is a trademark of metamifop 10% finished product.

FarmHannong plans to launch a large-scale 'Pyzero' launch in Malaysia on Sept. 17 and planning to embark on full-scale exploitation of Malaysian rice herbicide market.

FarmHannong offcials say he was able to complete product registration and export by proving that 'Pyzero' demonstrates excellent herbicidal effects on resistant weeds that are resistant to conventional herbicides, through a three-year field test in Malaysia.

FarmHannong plans to pursue aggressive marketing with a local partner aiming at a market share of more than 15% in Malaysian post emergence foliar treatment market for rice.

Since its release in 2009, Metamifop has been exported to eight countries including China, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia.

Recently, even in Thailand which is the world's largest exporter of rice, registration is completed and full-fledged export expansion is expected.

Jeff Kwon, Vice president of FarmHannong said, "This 'pyzero' export is significant in that it has evolved into a high value-added finished product export by combining differentiated formulation technology with superior active ingredient."

The company has expressed desire to continue to expand the export of finished Metamifop products.
