Brazilian CRO NSF Bioensaios appoints Dr. Edivan Tonhi as the new Head of Operations

With just a few months in his new position, Edivan has already placed NSF Bioensaios as the CRO with the most complete scope of GLP studies for the registration of chemical and microbiological pesticides in Brazil. By also offering in-vivo, in-vitro, in-silico (QSAR), residue and bee studies to meet IBAMA´s latest instruction (IN02 of Feb 9th, 2017: Bee Acute, Chronic and Field studies), the lab offers a one-stop shop experience to its clients.

By pursuing his Bachelor and Master degree in Analytical Chemistry by the University of São Paulo (USP)  and his doctor degree in the same field by the University of Campinas (Unicamp), both leading-edge Brazilian universities, Edivan acquired an outstanding scientific knowledge which since then he has been applying towards the Pharma and Agrochemical industries over the past 15 years.

In the Agro segment, among other achievements, Edivan developed an exceptional expertise in conducting GLP 5-batch studies for registration of pesticides in Brazil and abroad, for both new and equivalent products. He successfully embraced several key CRO leadership roles, from Supervisor of Mass Spectometry Lab to Technical Director of Pharma & Agrochemicals GLP Studies Unit. Most recently he worked as the Chief Scientific Officer at Mérieux NutriSciences Brazil (former Bioagri).

Given his strong scientific background and solid hands-on experience with GLP studies, Edivan quickly became a Brazilian reference in his field and a sought- after professional by both Multinational and Post Patent Crop Protection companies. Passionate about applying sciences and innovation to meet industries biggest challenges, Edivan also enjoys writing and he is the author of over 10 scientific articles published in specialized periodicals.
