KALO, Inc., a leading supplier of specialty chemicals for the professional turf and agricultural markets, recently announced the hiring of Mike Edens as the company's new Western Regional Business Manager. Edens will be based in the Boise, ID area and manage KALO's four territory managers west of the Rocky Mountains.

"We feel extremely fortunate to have someone with Mike's knowledge and experience joining our team," stated Chuck Champion, president of KALO, Inc. "In addition to managing our sales force in the Western U.S., he will report directly to me and help in all phases of our operations, including the development of our company's business strategy moving forward."

"I'm extremely excited about joining the management team at KALO," noted Edens. "I've been familiar with KALO for many years and have always admired everything about the company, from the quality of their product line to the way they conduct business. I look forward to contributing to the future growth of this outstanding organization."

Edens was born and raised in Parma, ID and attended Idaho State University and Treasure Valley Community College. In 1983, he joined the J.R. Simplot Company, where he held many positions within the Simplot Growers Solutions division. After 32 years with Simplot, Edens retired in December 2015 as Plant Health Technologies Product Manager to explore other opportunities. Along with his professional accomplishments, he has served several agricultural and community service organizations, including the Canyon County Farm Bureau, Leadership Idaho Agriculture and the Humbolt County Economic Development Authority.
