Bayer’s research laboratory gets permission in Mato Grosso, Brazil

Bayer was accredited by the Federal Superintendency of Agricultural of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso (SFA-MT) to operate the first experimental station of the company there.
According to the multinational, the station, located in the municipality of Sinop, will support research into new molecules for fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and seed treatments.
The accreditation of the Superintendency, linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply, grants the company permission to conduct research in a “controlled environment.” These are exactly the research stations with the Special Temporary Registration into stages 1, 2.
According to the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Special Temporary Registration grants the right to import or produce a sufficient quantity for research and experimentation. The concession of registration is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply, Anvisa and the Brazilian Institute of Natural Environment and Renewable Natural Resources, according to the competencies of each.
Bayer already has research stations accredited in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás and now in Mato Grosso, one of the major agricultural poles in the country.
