Brazilian company FT Sistemas announced the launch of the Biofly drone during the 24th edition of the Agrishow.

According to the maker, it is an unmanned aerial vehicle, with the capacity to evaluate, monitor and disperse biological agents to control disease and pests on soybeans, corn, and sugarcane, among others.

According to FT Sistemas, the offer of technologies for collecting data is under expansion in Brazil and it is a world trend for agricultural business, but the current products and services are still insufficient.

“The Biofly solution represents a new paradigm in the services offered to farmers as it integrates information available at several platforms present in the market, which allows management decisions oriented by precise and trustful data,” read the statement.

The company explained that the drone includes the dispersant of biological agents, sensors and operators staff for the craft belonging to the family FT 100: “Controlled through a table or laptop, the unmanned vehicles take off on a predefined route covering planting areas and returns to the base as the work is completed. The simplicity of the operation benefits small, medium and big farmers.”

Nei Brasil, chief executive officer of the company, believes that FT Biofly will be absorbed easily by the market, “because of the easiness of use, trustfulness, costs and operational profitability making the solution very competitive. The direct consequence is cost reduction and a yield increase in planting.”
