VoloAgri announced today that it has acquired Almeria, Spain based plant breeding company, Zayintec (Zayin Technology S.L.). The acquisition adds a large number of complimentary hybrid vegetable seed varieties to the global VoloAgri greenhouse and open field portfolios. Species include: pepper, tomato, cucumber, eggplant, squash, melon and watermelon.

“The addition of Zayintec to the VoloAgri family will have immediate and ongoing benefits”, says VoloAgri CEO Anthony Padgett. “Their commercial hybrids will fill gaps we have in our current product line up right away. The existing Zayintec facility in Almeria will continue to operate and have an expanded role in the VoloAgri system. The Zayintec breeding and product development team will have access to all VoloAgri germplasm immediately. Zayintec sales and marketing will have the expanded portfolio of VoloAgri commercial varieties to provide their established customers. The VoloAgri Group will have one sales force in Spain handling AXIA greenhouse varieties, the Zayintec materials plus the brands US Agriseeds, Greenport Seeds, California Hybrids, Catalyst Seeds, and New World Seeds.
