Recently, Sichuan Lier Chemical released its latest rice fungicide Youmei series, a product mixture based on epoxiconazole, which is a high-activity triazole.

Rice pest control has always been a subject of research for many rice-growing experts. The requirement of pest control for paddy rice is not the same at various stages of growth. The main problem regarding rice fungicide is the “imprecise use of fungicide,” which indicates that the same product is used to deal with different requirements at various stages of growth; and when different products are used, the quantity of use is either not sufficient or excessive, causing phytotoxicity.

For this reason, new rice fungicide is required to deal with the varied needs at various stages of growth, and should have a broad spectrum, be long-lasting and easy to use. Under such a circumstance, Youmei (Youmeiyan+Youmeisui) was introduced in response to the requirement.

Youmeiyan is a mixture between epoxiconazole and jinggangmycin A, which enables the rice stem to grow tall, straight and green in the early growth stage. Youmeisui is a mixture between epoxiconazole and tricyclazole, which is effective for the control of major rice diseases to ensure the straightness of rice and adequate grain filling.

According to Gu Yue, the product manager of Lier Chemical, like the glufosinate of Lier Chemical, the epoxiconazole project was also initiated in 2008, and therefore epoxiconazole, which is Youmei’s base ingredient, is secured by its current stable capacity of 100 tons per year; additionally, the annual 1,000-ton extension project in Guang’an has been initiated this year.
